Floorball is an easy sport, and you can learn it quickly. Because of the small amount of rules floorball is intensive, dynamical and attractive. Beneath you can find a short overview of the most important game rules to be able to start with a game immediately.
What is allowed:
- Playing the ball with both sides of the stick
- Stopping the ball with your body
- Passing the ball with your feet
- Protecting the ball with your body
- There is no offside
- Scoring from everywhere
- Playing the ball via the boarding
- Playing the ball behind the goal
- Continuously substituting players throughout the game, while the game continues
- Scoring directly from a free hit or hit in
- Pushing with your shoulder
What is not allowed:
- Hitting someone else’s stick
- Lifting or blocking someone’s stick
- Playing the ball with your head/arms/hands
- Scoring with your feet
- High stick when people are near
- Getting the ball out of the air above your knee
- Playing the ball while lying down/sitting
- Placing your stick between someone’s legs
- Getting in the goalie area as a field player
- Obstructing another player
- Body checks
